Government Agencies

Since 1964, GZA has provided services to government clients, either directly or through other architect and engineering companies.  In particular, in the late 70’s and throughout the 80’s, GZA provided some of the earliest environmental services to the federal government on Superfund sites, predominantly, throughout New England.  In addition, GZA has provided geotechnical engineering services to support the design, construction and repair of some the country’s most challenging infrastructure projects.

In this capacity, GZA has served federal, state and local governments by providing environmental, geotechnical and water resource engineering on projects throughout the United States.  Specifically, we have assisted the U.S. Department of Defense in numerous projects ranging from the design and construction of underground storage tank farms to remediating hazardous waste at fuel supply depots throughout New England.  On the state level, we assisted the State of Massachusetts in the evaluation and repair of dams following the heavy rain storms and flooding locally in 2006.

Finally, we believe that GZA brings an unique approach to government services.  Through the work provided to our private clients, GZA brings a value-added philosophy to solving problems consistent with the demands of our private clients.  This approach ensures responsiveness, economical solutions, and a drive to complete the projects in a timely fashion.
