| Remedial Investigations & Feasibility Studies |
|
|
GZA has provided environmental investigations and studies at over 50 Superfund National Priority List sites. Our staff has experience working with hundreds of contaminated sites and facilities regulated under various federal and state programs.
GZA has experience performing remedial investigation and feasibility studies (RI/FS) following EPA guidance at hundreds of sites. GZA’s approaches the RI/FS process in a dynamic and flexible manner to incorporate innovative remedial solutions selected from an incremental investigation program that builds an understanding of site conditions. GZA’s investigations focus on reducing uncertainty of subsurface conditions and building a risk based conceptual site model. The feasibility of remedial alternatives is considered based upon a foundation of technical understanding of site conditions and risk levels. Remedy selection follows an initial screening process, laboratory treatability testing, and final remedy selection that is technically and cost effective.
GZA’s RIFS process includes the following:
- Preliminary Assessments/Site Inspections
- Scoping and the development of site-specific work plans
- Site characterization and evaluation of health and environmental risks
- Development of risk-based cleanup levels
- Development and screening of alternatives
- Treatability studies
- Analysis of remedial alternatives, selection of remedy, and preparation of conceptual designs
- Expert testimony and litigation support
