GZA brings a results-oriented long-term solution approach to all of its consulting projects.
The responsibilities of complying with, and the jurisdiction of the EPA’s National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP), and especially the Asbestos Standard (40 CFR Part 61) is complex and far-reaching. Poor or ignored management procedures resulting in employee and/or pubic exposure to these agents will cause liability issues and settlement costs that may exceed your companies worth, resulting in closure.
Complying with EHS regulations can be challenging and resource intensive. The effective management of asbestos and lead require covering safety aspects for those handling these materials during production, maintenance and construction activities and also through environmental aspects for training qualifications of those qualified to do abatement work or design and manage such work. GZA’s asbestos and lead management procedures can assist Clients in their efforts to safely manage abatement projects and asbestos and lead containing materials in place. We can advise and assist in collection of bulk samples for asbestos and lead identification. We can also perform gap analysis reviews of your programs as a check for compliance and program optimization. We can also assist in selection of qualified abatement contractors.
GZA’s professional staff and engineering expertise can assist you in meeting these challenges, thus helping to avoid employee-public hazard exposure, costly legal proceedings, and impractical abatement requirements. Some of our services in this area include:
